Several years ago, we were retained to remodel a dental office in Denver, Colorado and were also designated as the Construction Manager to ensure the project was completed on time and on budget. Approximately three months after project completion, the dentist received a bill for $29,000 from the dental equipment supplier for an additional change order and equipment upgrades, despite the fact that all charges through approved change order had already been paid! It took nearly two weeks and a fifteen page rebuttal report to convince the supplier that they were in "error." This supplier eventually went out of business, but did so without stealing my client’s money.
